HEAD OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING – IRELAND

The Door Talent is conducting an executive search for an experienced Head of Electrical Engineering to lead the electrical engineering function of a major international engineering and infrastructure organisation in Ireland. This is a senior technical and leadership appointment, combining engineering strategy, technical governance, project delivery and team leadership across complex, high-value projects. The successful candidate will have significant influence over engineering standards, investment decisions and the continued development of the organisation’s electrical engineering capabilities. The Role As Head of Electrical Engineering, you will take overall responsibility for the electrical engineering function in Ireland. Key responsibilities will include: Lead the Electrical Engineering department and senior engineering team Define engineering strategy, technical standards and best practices Provide technical leadership across major infrastructure and industrial projects Oversee electrical design, power distribution, protection and control systems Ensure engineering compliance, safety and technical quality Lead technical reviews and approve critical engineering decisions Manage engineering resources, budgets and project priorities Recruit, mentor and develop senior engineering talent Work closely with Operations, Projects, Commercial and Executive Leadership Manage relationships with clients, contractors, consultants and key stakeholders Support tenders, major investment projects and business development initiatives Drive innovation, efficiency and continuous improvement across the engineering function
